NEW DELHI: Two low intensity explosions rocked the high security technical area of Jammu Air Force Station in the early hours of Sunday.

The explosions took place around 1.45 am. The first blast ripped off the roof of a building and the second one was on the ground.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties. "Two low intensity explosions were reported early Sunday morning in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station. One caused minor dge to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area. There was no dge to any equipment. Investigation is in progress along with civil agencies," the Indian Air Force tweeted.

Security agencies suspect that drones were used to drop bombs at the station. "Two drones were used to carry out an attack inside the Air Force base in Jammu," according to new agency ANI. According to reports, drones were used to drop wons in the past as it cannot be detected by radar.

However, defence spokesperson Jammu briefly said that there were reports of an explosion inside Air Force Station Jammu. The spokesperson further added that the update will be shared and urged the media that we need to restrain ourselves till the investigations are on and only report based on the offi al statement.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh, who is on three-day visit to Ladakh, spoke to Vice Air Chief, Air Marshal H.S. Arora regarding explosions at the station. Rajnath Singh informed that Air Marshal Vikram Singh would soon reach Jammu to take stock of the two blasts.
