Car halted for Presi nt's special train, ill woman dies in Kanpur

KANPUR: An ailing 50-year-old woman died on the way to hospital when her car was stopped before a flyover in the city because the special train carrying Presi nt Ram Nath Kovind and his entourage was passing below on its way to Kanpur Central railway station on Friday evening.

While the Kanpur police commissioner tendered an apology, Presi nt Kovind and his wife, Savita Kovind, have sent condolence messages to the victim’s family. Vandana Mishra (50) died on the way to hospital after her car was stopped for the Presi nt’s train.

Vandana Mishra (50), the head of the women’s wing of Indian Industries Association (Kanpur chapter), who had recovered from Covid-19 about one-and-a-half months ago, was being rushed to a hospital after she compned of uneasiness on Friday. When their car reached Govindpuri flyover, traffic had been stopped for special train to pass.

印度工業協會(坎普爾分會)婦女部負責人Vandana Mishra(50歲)，大約一個半月前新冠剛康復，周五她上感到不舒服后被緊急送往醫院。當他們的車到達戈文普里立交橋時，因有專利經過，交通已被攔截。

Her family members cmed that they pleaded with police deployed at the bridge, but they didn’t relent. The car was able to move only after the Presi nt’s special train had passed. By then Vandana had become breathless and was declared dead by doctors on reaching hospital. Her last rites were performed on Saturday.DM Alok Tiwari, police commissioner Aseem Kumar Arun and DCP South Raveena Tyagi attended the cremation.

This should be treated as MURDER. A life has been lost and what did the family get condolences and apologies. Presi nt and his entourage was acting as Derek Chauvin and the lady victim was female Flyod. Somebody has to be held accountable. Someone must. It is pure MURDER.
